Madison ~ New Prague, MN
Maddie has just started kindergarten and is a star on the soccer field! Madison has A-T and her and her family are very involved with the A-T Children’ s Project and will be going to Disney World in December for the A-T Marathon!

Ethan ~ Evansville, WI
Ethan is our "Wildman" nicknamed for his love of NASCAR racing and speed. He was diagnosed with AT at the age of 5. Ethan was in soccer until he was transferred to a wheelchair. At that time, he started managing a local team. He is active with his local 4-H Club and has earned Grand Champion Trophy/Prize ribbons at the Rock County Fair in Janesville, WI for his turkey's, rabbits and rocketry. His goal is to participate in the Wisconsin State Fair.

Jake ~ Thornton, CO
Jake, better known as the "Jakester" loves hockey and is a huge fan of the Colorado Avalanche. It became necessary to amputate his right leg at the hip joint due to the continued growth of fibromas (tumors) there. He handled the surgery with great courage. Jake is active with his sled hockey team in Colorado. He is also an expert X-box video game player.

Katie ~ Appleton, WI
Katie is our princess and loves dressing up. You can always find Katie with a feather boa or just the right amount of "bling." Katie is now a teenager and loves being watched over by her big brothers.

Joe ~ Springfield, VA
Joe and his family are very active in raising awareness and funds for AT. He is our east coast connection. Joe loves to travel and go to movies and has developed wonderful friendships with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, who coincidentally nicknamed Joe "Sweet cheeks" while he was undergoing steroid treatment and his cheeks puffed up. Now that his cheeks have disappeared - they have changed his nickname to "Joe Rocket." Joe had major surgery in September 05 to correct bone damage to both his hips due to the longterm steroid therapy. He is pressently feeling great, out of pain, and is back in school full-time.

Taylor ~ Cochrane, WI
Taylor nicknamed "Tate" is not afraid to talk about AT and the challenges he faces because of the disease. Taylor is a master at PS2 and loves watching wrestling, auto racing and is a hockey fanatic! He loves watching NHL games and going to Brad Paisley concerts whenever Brad is playing in Wisconsin or Minnesota. Taylor also participates at the Team 25 Adaptive Floor Hockey summer camp in Rochester as a goalie.

Megan ~ Springfield, IL
Megan is 22 years old and works part-time for the State of Illinois in the Comptroller's office and does clerical work. She has a green belt in Tae Kwon Do, enjoys swimming, riding in her golf cart and recently joined a bowling league. Megan loves scary movies - the scarier the better!!! Her favorite music is country and artist Brad Paisley. She has a dog named Barney and a cat named Sassy. Megan's little brother Alex also had A-T and leukemia - he died in 2004 and she really misses him. Megan hopes we can find a cure or treatment and that she won't have to lose any more friends to A-T.

LaShalle ~ Billings, MT
LaShalle is a 20 years old. She lives in Montana with her parents. She has one older brother Ryan who live in Cody, Wyoming. She loves county music and knows the words to most songs. LaShalle is a gold metalist in Special Olympic gymnastic and swimming. She is very fond of small children and traveling. One of her highlights every year is going to Shjon Podeins fund raising event. She loves every thing about it, and feels very lucky to part of it.

Tyler ~ Appleton, WI
Tyler is the older brother of Trevor and Katie (who has AT). He has achieved the highest Boy Scout honor and was presented with the "Eagle Scout" award for participation in everything he was able to do. Tyler has a great love for animals, especially horses. Tyler has a gentle spirit and is easy-going. He loves watching movies and simply hanging out with people.

Jarrett ~ Boca Raton, FL
Jarrett is an older brother to Quinn, who also has AT. In addition to Quinn, he has two more brothers. Jarrett has been nicknamed the "Human Calculator" by his friends and family for his astounding mathematic abilities. Jarrett's dad is the founder of the AT Children's Project (www.atcp.org)established to accelerate research for Ataxia Telangiectasia (AT).

Joel ~ Dubuque, IA
Joel has a twin sister (Rebekah) who does not have AT. Joel ALWAYS has a smile on his face. He is a devoted Packer Backer and loves playing video games. Joel has a great sense of humor and is always one to set up a practical joke. He enjoys computer games, board games and loves math (which he has no qualms about saying he is smart at.) Joel didn't want to move into a wheelchair, but once he saw how fast he could go in his electric wheelchair - he hasn't slowed down since.

Nick ~ Dubuque, IA
“Nacho Nick” is a prangster from Dubuque, IA, happens to be Joel’s best friend. Nick is a very tough young man who underwent a double lung transplant last summer in Houston, TX. He has had a tough ride over the past year but was able to return home this spring and shows improvement everyday. No matter what the news, Nick always finds his smile, and finds a way to encourage his family and friends!

Quinn ~ Boca Raton, FL
Quinn is one of four brothers. Quinn and his older brother Jarrett have AT. Quinn is a known practical joker and has been nicknamed the "Quinster." He loves bowling and only complains when his scores are high enough. Quinn's father is the founder of the AT Children's Project (www.atcp.org) established to accelerate reserach for Ataxia Telangiectasia (AT).

Renaté ~ Wilmington, DE
Hi my name is Renaté Klein & I am 28 years old. I was born in New York City, I went to school in York, Pennsylvania and I currently live in Wilmington, Delaware. I also am a world traveler; I’ve been to Paris, Switzerland, London and Rome. Someday, I hope to visit Greece & Germany. I also like to watch TV and movies, but I don’t want to turn into a couch potato. Listening to audio books and sewing Hearts of Hope for friends, family & A-T supporters are some things I like to do. And I’ve sewn 95 Hearts since 2002!!! I also enjoy listening to country music, especially Brad Paisley & singing along with it to my hearts content. And I love working with small children, especially my 5 nieces & nephews.

Zane ~ Newton, IA
Zane was diagnosed with AT when he was 14 months old. His cousin LaShalle was diagnosed with AT a few years before Zane was born, so we recognized some of the early symptoms. Today Zane is in first grade and doing very well. He has a wonderful sense of humor and likes a good joke! Zane loves swimming, movies, computer games, and wrestling with his older brother, Noah.
